The Connerton Story

The Connerton Company, Inc. was established in 1936 in Los Angeles as Connerton Appliance Company by Paul Connerton. Prior to 1936, Paul manufactured home gas heaters. His entry into the foodservice industry was with a broiler that cooks both sides at the same time. It was designed with cast iron top and bottom burners with ceramic radiants similar to the ones he used in the home gas heaters.
This over/under broiler was not only innovative, but ahead of it's time. In 1936 chefs didn't have to worry about expensive floor and ventilator hood space, as well as the need for fast cooking time. For 45 years, this over/under broiler was sold to steak house chains as Connerton's sole product. In 1983 the line was increased to include stainless steel counter top griddles, hot plates, under-fired broilers, stock pot stoves and cheesemelters.
The Connerton Company is still a solely owned and operated family business incorporating second, third and fourth generations. Success is due to our commitment to excellence in quality and customer service.
